One for the lads

Another card made, this time one for the lads.

I have followed the sketch over at Cupcake Craft. The image is a Karens Doodles digistamp which I have coloured in with Promarkers.
The papers are from a 6 x 6 pad by Dovecraft called Masculine. I have edged the star and strip papers with silver fine line peel offs. I have cut the circle and scalloped circle out with my nesties. I have used a round punch to snip off the corners on the image and then stuck onto blue card, I rounded off the corners with a corner rounder punch and stuck 4 clear gems in each corner. I have faux stitched around the circle and the image with a green and blue fine tipped end of a Marvey Le Plume pen.

A card for Nick

I have made this concertina tag card for my Brother in Law Nick.

I have used half a piece of 12 x 12 green Bazzill card. I have used scraps of ribbon to tie around the hole in the tag. The images are from Karens Doodles Nick is very keen on fishing and has two young daughters so thought these images would suit the oaccasion. I have flipped the little girl digistamp in Photoshop Elements so I have two girls but with the fish shown in opposite directions. I have coloured the images with Promarkers and then cut around them. I have added glossy accents to the fish to make them look wet.

I used my nesties to cut out the ovals and scalloped ovals and stuck them to the card with 3D foam pads, I then stuck the images on to the ovals with Pinflair glue gel.

The sentiment is computer generated.

An anniversary card for Ian and Christine

Here is a card I have made for my hubby's Aunt and Uncles 43rd Wedding Anniversary, which is this Wednesday. I hope they like it.

I have followed the sketch over at The Pixie Cottage. The image is a digistamp from Karens Doodles which I have coloured in with Promarkers. I have punched the corners with a heart punch and then mated onto red card. I then used a corner rounder on the corners of the red card.
I have printed off three red backing papers from a Cuddly Buddly Patchwork download and cut them into squares. I have then stuck three squares together in each line of three and stamped some stitching around the edges. I have added some heart velvet ribbon on top of the patchwork and then stuck the image and backing card on top using 3d foam tape. I have added a tiny red organza ribbon on the left hand side and added three paper flowers with red pearls in the centre on the top right hand corner. I have also added a couple of red punched out swirls to the top corners of the image.

A Wedding Card using one of my 3 won images from Karens Doodles

Last week I was lucky enough to win a challenge where my prize was 3 digi images from Karens Doodles the above wedding image is one of them.

I had made a card for my friend Sharon to give to her friend Nichola on the birth of her baby and she loved it so much she is going to frame it, Nichola wanted me to make something similar for her brother and his wife who have already got married so they could do the same with a wedding card.
Here is what I made this morning.

The image is coloured in with Promarkers and then cut out with my circle and scalloped circle nesties and matted onto burgundy card. The base card is cream which I have printed gold wording onto. I have added shiny gold circle peel offs around the image and thin shiny gold line peel offs down the right hand side.
I have added a burgundy ribbon and a double bow on the left hand side. The image has been stuck down with 3d foam pads to raise off the base card.

This is the first time Nichola has ordered a card from me so I am hoping she is going to be pleased with it when it arrives at her end tomorrow.

WOW I CAME FIRST IN ONE CHALLENGE AND IN THE TOP FIVE IN ANOTHER

I have been really lucky in the last week, I won Karens Doodles Scandinavian last Wednesday Challenge number 14 which was to follow a sketch. I won with the card I made for my dad for fathers day so I was pleased with that result as I got to choose 3 images or free. I think Karens Doodles are my favourite digi stamps ever, there is always so much detail on them and I love them all.

Today I see I made the top 5 in Tuesday morning sketches challenge 50 with the stair steop card I made for Olivia's 13th Birthday.

A muslim wedding card

My friend Neelam asked me to make a wedding card for a muslim wedding. The bride always wears red with lots of gold jewellery and the groom wears black. They later have another ceremony where the bride wears blue if I remember correctly.

I have used my sizzix dies to create the bride and groom, and stuck on googly eyes. Its a computer generated the message on the front and on the insert inside using the deep gold colour. I have then put heart peel offs around the edge to create a border.

A birthday card for Olivia

Its my daughter Freya's best friend Olivia's 13th birthday this Saturday and this is the card I have come up with for her.
I have made a middle stepper card using one of my most favourite craft tools, my scor-pal. I have the metric and imperial versions.
The image is made using 2 Magnolia Tilda stamps which I have used the masking technique on to sit her in the swimming ring. I have coloured the image in with Promarkers. I have had these 2 stamps for ages but have never got around to using them.
I then punched the 4 corners with my Martha Stewart butterfly corner punch, and matted and layered onto pink card and stuck onto the blue stepper card.
The backing paper on both sides is from a 6 x 6 paper pad from the Forever Friends With love pad which I have matted and layered onto pink card.
The letters and numbers have been cut out using my Olivia Cuttlebug alphabet die set. The butterflies have been cut using the X-Cut butterfly punch and I have added 3 sparkly gems to each one and stuck onto the card with pinflair glue. I hope she likes it.

The backing papers are digi downloads, the blue spotty paper is from Pink Petticoat and the stripey paper is from Cuddly Buddly. The sentiment was a free digi stamp from Hobby Palais blog

An unusual request - A Lilac baby girl card

My friend Rachel has had me to standby to make card for her sister on the birth of her baby, they did not know what they were having but if it was a girl Rachel wanted no pink on the card as her sister hates the colour pink. The baby arrived on Friday, the day before my own daughter Freya's birthday so I cracked on with a card for her.

Hopefully she will love this card as no pink! I am sure it is likely to be the only baby girl card she gets with absolutely no pink on it at all.

I have used my Bookatrix board to emboss the shape around the edges and made a three layer open book style card, the three layers are pearlescent purple card, silver card and pearlescent lilac card on the top. I have gone round the edges with silver link peel offs. The ribbon down the centre is lilac with silver edging, which I bought from Hobbycraft, I can't remember where I bought the lovely lilac with white dot organza ribbon from but I liked it and had to have it at the time lol. I made 6 bows with the ribbon and stuck onto each corner with glue dots and 2 in the centre.

I computer generated the message on the right and edged with silver line peel offs and added a sizzix die cut pram on the left with a little baby dressed in gingham in the pram, then added another bow in the centre.

I made a box to them to keep the keepsake card in, wrapped the card in lilac tissue paper and sent it off yesterday. I am hoping Rachel will receive it tomorrow.

Gosh where has this week gone - Freya's Birthday Card

Gosh where has the last week gone? I haven't had a chance to make any cards at all or keep up to date with all the normal challenges I like to check out, although I had to sit down and make my daughter Freya a birthday card as she is going to be 13 tomorrow, my youngest child is going to be a teenager, that makes me feel so old!!!

Anyway back to her card. This is the first time ever that I have made a joy fold card, I printed some instructions off from Splitcoast Stampers website but had never got round to making one so I thought I'd make one today. I have adapted the sizes as I wanted to make her a reasonably big card.
I have printed the backing papers from a new digi download that I bought from Cuddly Buddly yesterday as they have a 25% sale off until tomorrow. Its called A patchwork of papers which has various patterns all in red in it so both designs of the paper were from there.

The image is a Karens Doodles image which I have coloured in with Promarkers. The circles have been cut using nesties and the text has been done using wordart, the circle on the left hand side of the card is to keep the flap part of the card shut. I have added gems into the four corners of the front flap and edged with silver line peeloffs. I have also added line peel offs around the Happy Birthday paper on the left hand side of the card.

I am entering the card into the following challenges
Allsorts Photo inspiration

A card for Andre

This is the other card I made for Andre with the French theme (They are French) on behalf of my Step Mum Brenda. I have used a rubber stamp from Joanna Sheen called Monsieur Lofty, I thought it was great as soon as I saw it as my Dad and Step mum moved out to France 6/7 years ago, we have stayed with them in the Summer which is great, My Dad is a fantastic cook and my daughters love to swim so they are just happy in my Dads swimming pool the whole time.

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers, faux stitched around the edges with a Marvey Le Plume pen. Cut out the flag with my nesties and layered onto card. I added the name with gold peel offs and used gold straight lines around the edges of the blue card. The ribbon was a reel I brought from Hobbycraft.
