Christmas in July card 4

Yet another white on white card, I am so pleased I have embossing folders to give some texture to a white on white card.

I have used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Ice Crystals on two pieces of white card and attached to base card. The image is a Karens Doodles digistamp called First Snowfall which I have coloured in with Promarkers. I then cut a scalloped square to stick the image onto. I added a Martha Stewart snowflake with a white pearl in the centre onto each corner of the image to finish it off nicely.

The image is a Karens Doodles digi stamp called Bigsby Wreath which I have coloured in with Promarkers and the cut out using my circle and scalloped circle nesties. I then embossed some white card with my ice crystals Cuttlebug embossing folder and stuck to the base card. I have added two white corners (Cuttlebug Fancy corners die) and 2 Martha Stewart punched snowflakes with a white pearl in the centre onto the right hand side of the card as I felt it needed something there.

The image is a Karens Doodles image called Skating Fun which I have coloured in with Promarkers. I cut two pieces of card and embossed both with my Ice Crystal Cuttlebug folder and stuck to the right hand side card. I stuck the image to a piece of card which I used a Martha Stewart punch on to give the image a nice border.

I then cut some snowflakes with my Martha Stewart punch and added a white pearl in the centre of each.

The bottom corner embellishment has been cut with a Cuttlebug fancy corner die.

Thank goodness for Cuttlebug Embossing folders. Karens Doodles are doing a challenge this week where you can only use white on white. The only thing you are allowed to colour is the image. Gosh I found this one difficult.

I have followed the sketch over at One stop craft. The image is a Karens Doodles image called First Snowfall which I have coloured in with Promarkers. I cut out the image with my circle and scalloped nesties. I have embossed the diamond shape below the image with a Cuttlebug folder called Ice Crystals and embossed the base card with a spotty Crafts Too embossing folder.

I have cut out the snowflakes with a Martha Stewart punch and stuck a white pearl in the middle. I stuck the snowflakes onto the card with Pinflair glue gel.

Workout buddy card

Here is a card I have made using one of the digi images I recently won over at Karens Doodles Its called workout buddy, I think its really cute that Rosie is pulling Bigsby on his water skis, I've never really fancied water skiing but Bigsby and Rosie seen happy to do it.

I have followed the wonderful sketch over at Karens Doodles USA just adding a little circle sentiment in the top right hand corner to the original sketch.

The digi image has been coloured in with Promarkers. I have adding loads of texture by embossing the three pieces of card, one with swiss dots , one with D'vine swirl and the other with spots and dots Cuttlebug folders. I have then matted and layered the embossed pieces of card onto more card before sticking onto the base card.

I have added three pink buttons with cream thread running through them on the bottom right hand corner and 2 blue and cream flowers with gems in the middle and a pink larger flower with a larger gem in the middle onto the top left hand side of the card.

The sentiment has been computer generated and then cut out using my circle and scalloped circle nesties. The sentiment and image have been stuck on with 3d foam tape to raise off the card and the buttons and flowers have been stuck on with Pinflair.

I have also gone around the edge of the backing paper with a fine line silver peel off.

Wow I came 1st in Delightful sketches challenge

I came 1st in last weeks challenge over at Delightful sketches Life's a beach challenge with my side step beach summer scene card, my hard work has obviously paid off. Thank you to everyone that left me such lovely comments.

I can't believe it, not only do I get to choose a free image but I have also been given these two lovely blog badges to wear on my blog with pride and been asked to be a spotlight guest designer for next week so I will be making a project over the weekend hopefully once I have thought about what I'm going to do.

I am truly amazed to have won this challenge and it means so much more to me as I was chosen by the design team and not by a random number.
Check back next week to see what I came up with.

Thanks for looking x

I came third in Karens UK Challenge 19

I came third in Karens Doodles UK challenge number 19 from last week with my beach scene card so I have won another of Karens wonderful digi stamps, I chose Bigsby Wreath as I think he looks so cute cuddled up in his blanket in the wreath and it won't be long before we are all making xmas cards in earnest.

Thanks for looking, I hope everyone has a great weekend x

A little green basket

I thought I would have a go at making a little basket using this cute free digital image that Paula from Pollycraft Designs gave everyone this week if you entered her freebie challenge last week.

I made the basket from some green Bazzill 12 x 12 card. I cut it down to 9 x 9 inches and scored at 3inch and 6 inch mark and then cut and glued to create the basket . The handle has been stuck on with some brads so the handle can move. I have done the image on both sides of the basket.

I have used Promarkers to colour the image with 3 shades of green, they are Marsh Green, Apple and Meadow Green. The pretty daisy strip part on the handle was cut using my Martha Stewart punch.

I cut the coloured images out with my circle nestie, matted onto a light blue circles and then onto a darker blue scalloped circles.

I have shredded some green ribbon to hide whatever I decide to put in it before I give it to someone.

18th Birthday card for Ross

Here is the card I have made for my best friend Julie's son Ross who will be 18 on the 23rd July. Unfortunately he won't be at home to celebrate his 18th birthday with his family.
Congratulations Ross, I hope you have a great day.

He joined the army just after his 16th birthday and graduated this summer. I believe he will be off to Afghanistan in the near future.

I have made an easel card with dark green card. I printed the green gingham backing paper from a Pink Petticoat download. I edged the gingham with fine line gold peel offs and then stuck onto gold paper, then onto the green base card. I bought the image ages ago, its a decoupage sheet with another image as well which I am saving for next year.
The shape underneath the image has been cut with a nesties die, I think its called inverted circle or something like that. I cut Ross and 18 out using my Cuttlebug Olivia alphabet and the Happy Birthday wording I cut out using my Quickcutz alphabet. I added the same paper and card onto the base of the card to create the easel effect.

Another graduation card for Dom

My sister Louise asked me to make a card for her to give to her son Dominic to celebrate his graduation tomorrow. This is the card I made wrapped up in blue tissue paper and put in a handmade box.

I have used a booktrix embossing board and used three pieces of card, pale blue. pearlescent silver and then the top layer pale pearlescent blue. I edged the edges with silver peel offs, added blue ribbon with silver edging down the centre. Added 6 bows made using narrow version of the same ribbon. I printed out the message in silver and edged that with fine line peel offs.

I used my Sizzix dies to cut the little Sizzix person and graduation outfit, added googly eyes to the face and stuck onto the left hand side of the card with 3d foam pads.

A summer beach scene

This is a card that took me ages to make. Its a side stepper card, it took me ages to colour in with my Promarkers. I have used my prize from Karens Doodles last week the Digi Tropical beach set which I love.

I made the base side step card first in blue card and used a corner rounder on the top corners. The rest is printed on white card and coloured with Promarkers. I then used Photoshop elements to create the layers (which is still new to me so had a bit of my hubbys help).

I have printed out the background image including the beach, sea, palm tree and sky and cut off the left hand tree to fit the stepper part on the 3rd step at the back. I then coloured the layer in.

I then started on the 2nd step using just the beach and the palm tree after mirroring them in PSE and then cut around the palm tree so 2nd layer just has the sand and the palm tree standing up (which doesn't really show in the photo)

I then started on the front layer cutting out the beach and the palm tree.
I printed out all the characters, coloured them in and then cut around each and stuck Herbert onto the front layer with foam pads, Rosie on the 2nd layer against the palm tree with foam pads and Bigsby on the third layer on top of the coconuts with foam pads to raise them from the card. I love colouring but this really took quite some time to colour. Unfortunately the photo doesn't really show the fab dimension on this card.

Another christmas card from me, I have followed the sketch over at Moving along with the times.

The image was a freebie image called Drake from Pollycraft ages ago which I have coloured in with Promarkers. The backing papers are from the Dovecraft contempory christmas paper pack matted and layered onto gold mirri card.
I have cut out the snowflakes with a Cuttlebug die using gold mirri board. The corners of the image have been rounded off with my holly corner X-Cut punch. I have then addded green paper behind so the holly is green instead of gold.

The football has been cut using my Quickutz football die and the word Goal has been cut with a Quickutz alphabet. I have stuck the image and the left hand panel on with 3d foam tape to raise them off the base card. I thought this was a nice little card for a footie made little boy.

A Criss Cross card

I thought I would have a go at making a Criss cross card today, this was the Just Magnolia special monthly challenge. Its too late to enter their challenge but I wanted to have a go at one anyway.
I have used papers from my Piece of Cake 6 x 6 paper pad from Dovecraft and brown paper and card.
I don't know why but I am suddenly liking these two colours together and I have made quite a few cards using the same colours and papers in the last week.
The image is a Magnolia stamp coloured in with Promarkers. I have stuck onto oval and scalloped oval with 3d foam pads to raise off the card. The brown spotty ribbon was from a reel I bought at WS Designs at the Newbury craft show.
The punch I have used is a Martha Stewart punch called Layered Arches. The flowers have been made with my Marianne Design flower dies with pearls stuck in the middle and the swirls are from a Marianne Design die too.

Love - First anniversary card for Jane and Andy

Here is a card I made for my friend Rachel's friends Jane and Andy for their 1st wedding anniversary. I made them a bookatrix card for their wedding last year in gold, cream and Burgundy and Rachel wanted me to stay with the same colours for their first anniversary so this is what I came up with.
First of all I printed the message in gold on my computer and added the burgundy ribbon doen the left hand side, then made a double bow and stuck that on top of the ribbon.
I have used a lovely wedding digistamp from Karens Doodles that I was lucky enough to win a few weeks back and have coloured a little bit of the image in with Promarkers. I then cut the image out with a circle nestie and then cut a scalloped circle for it to go on and stuck gold hexagon peel offs around the edge. I cut a scalloped heart out with a nestie and then punched the interlinked hearts out of the burgundy heart with my X-cut punch and stuck some gold card behind to make the hearts appear gold.

Donkey card for Michelle

Last night I managed to make a card for Michelle, I am sure many of you have already read about her terrible news but if not I found out Here
I wanted to make her a card to wish her a speedy recovery and lovely Karen (My favourite digistamp artist) at Karens Doodles is offering this gorgeous donkey digi for free to help with the card drive for Michelle as she is mad on donkeys.

I used a base pink card. I followed the sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week. The paper is from Dovecraft 6 x 6 piece of cake paper pad. I have run the pink card through two of my Cuttlebug embossing folders, coloured the image in with Promarkers, cut out the computer generated sentiment with my oval nesties, added some ribbon and a bow made in the same ribbon to the card. I have added the image and sentiment onto card with 3d foam tape.

Apart from sending this card off to Michelle pronto, I thought I would enter it into a couple of challenges to spread the word.

A Triangular Easel card

Amended to add new photo taken in daylight

As you can probably tell I have spent the day in my craft room making a few cards. Here is another one, an unusual shaped easel card which was the challenge over at Crafty Anns this week and she has even put templates on the blog to use.
I used the template to create the base triangular easel card which is in a lovely pearlescent brown and then added a light pink pearlescent layer and then a cream layer both edged with gold peel offs as I thought the colours reminded me of neapolitan ice cream yummy yummy! The image is a Karens Doodles digistamp which I have coloured in with Promarkers. and then cut around and stuck onto card with 3d foam tape.
The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out using my circle and scalloped circle nesties and then stuck over the ribbon with 3d foam tape. I have added a little bow in the same ribbon at the peak of the card. I have also added 3 pink gems on the points of the triangle.

This time I chose Workout buddy and Nutsy Cake. I have started getting a really good collection of her digis now, most I have bought but I have also won 6.

Can't wait to see what other digi images she brings out next. Thanks for looking x

Red, white and blue

I hope everyone is enjoying this fantastic weather we have been having.

Here is another card I have made, this time I followed the fab sketch over at Creative Inspirations. The image is a Karens Doodles digistamp which I have coloured with Promarkers.

I have cut the image and scalloped circle out with my nesties. I have embossed both pieces of red card with a cuttlebug embossing folder and matted and layered onto white card which was then matted and layered onto blue card edged with a silver fine line peel off. I have wrapped thin ribbon around the 2 pieces of red card before sticking down.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
Polka Doodles Boys Birthday
Allsorts Embossing
Crafty Pad Embossing
Karens Doodles USA Red, white and blue
stamp with fun Birthday
A spoonful of sugar Animal Crackers
Creative Inspirations Sketch
Pixie dust studio Red, white and blue
Meljen Designs Red, white and blue
